What is an XPS shower tray?
An XPS shower tray is a lightweight, pre-sloped, waterproof shower base made from closed-cell XPS with a cement coating. It is laid onto the subfloor, sealed at the edges, and tiled directly — ideal for curbless, walk-in showers.
Is an XPS tray strong enough to walk on?
Yes. The high compressive-strength XPS core plus the cement-faced surface carries normal foot traffic. Once tiled on a properly prepared subfloor it performs like a traditional tray.
Linear or center drain — which should I choose?
A linear drain gives a modern, single-direction fall that suits large-format tile and walk-in showers; a center drain suits classic square enclosures. Both are available bonded into the tray.
